The project was developed during the 2019 European elections. Back then many countries experienced the rise of populist parties. “In Soldoni” consists of banknotes set in a dystopic scenario where Italy is under a populist government. The Lira Nuova is the new currency and is representative of the sovereign party ideology.

The project is realised with UV printing, which enabled the reproduction security features like watermark, embossed details and micro patterns. The micropatterns are visible through a magnifying glass: these details are “subversive" symbols that picture our critical point of view against populist values.
