Engraved value

Engraved values is an investigation into the practice of copy/paste, in particular through the experimentation on MDF. Why do humans copy materials, instead of generating new aesthetics? Human beings stick to what they already know and feel bound to natural materials because of inherited meanings.

Copying materials is therefore not only an act of faking but also a practice that transfers a social and emotional value to humbler materials. MDF gains a new value through the engraving of a wooden pattern.
