The Master thesis – developed in collaboration with Lara Nellißen – is the result of research conducted through three workshops focused on the rammed earth technique. This ancient construction system is based on the compression of loam, sand and gravel producing a stable and solid result similar to cement. Rammed earth is an entirely recyclable construction material that leads to numerous advantages for indoor air quality in buildings.

Our research poses a fundamental question: how can we communicate these possibilities to a broader audience and spread awareness of earth, still considered a niche construction material? Through practical experiences, we examined the various characteristics of this material, that culminated in a workshop on the streets of Graz, aimed at actively engaging the community in discovering this fascinating construction approach.
